A Little Bit About Me...

I hold high expectations for all my students to achieve the best that they can do. I am aware that there are various learning styles in the classroom, especially with first grade! I have experience in using Brain Gym, Multiple Intelligences, and utilize the various learning styles into my lesson plans. I am patient, kind, and yet firm in my discipline. I believe that I can make a difference in a child's life just by bonding with them and instilling in them a love of learning and curiousity.
I graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education/Child Development (ZA Endorsement). From that point on, I subbed in various elementary schools, including Rockford and Comstock Park. Buddies are important because they give students someone other than the teacher to go to with questions that may seem "silly" and give them someone with whom to share concerns. Books and technology can be used to multi-facet the learning experiences of all students involved, as there may be several types of abilities in the classroom and multiple "intelligences," as well. I am also a proponent of projects that echo what I am currently teaching.
