My name is Maria Sedrak. I am a Material Sciences Engineer. I spent my college years teaching Piano to kids starting from 4 years old to married couples. I also were a Junior TA in the Physics Department back in my University for two consecutive semesters. I also freelanced at giving Mathematics classes to middle school students. I also performed in front of a large crowd multiple times making me able to interact greatly with people.
I like to simplify whatever problem the student is facing in order for him/her to be able to independently solve it. I always like to remind them that nothing is hard, it is just how they are looking at the problem and organize their thoughts. During my studies at Stony Brook University, I was able to gain some experience teaching peers as an undergraduate teaching assistant. I studied literature and achieved a second bachelor’s degree in Art History and Criticism. I studied abroad in my junior year at Lancaster University in England. It was the experience of a lifetime. Students are assigned work that they are expected to complete, although it won't be too time consuming.
