A Little Bit About Me...

I was a teaching assistant at North Georgia College and State University for three years. I assisted with laboratory sections of biology courses and taught them in the event of a professors absence. I provided department funded tutoring services during that time as well. I have taken the GRE and Biology Section of the GRE and received excellent scores on both tests in only one sitting. I have also coached 4H horse quiz bowl and horse judging teams for several years working with elementary and middle school age children.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught in the public schools for 14 years in grades Kindergarten and First. I have taught English speaking children as well as Hispanic children whose first language is Spanish. I am ESOL endorsed. I also taught at an IB school for 5 years at which time I taught the Primary Years Curriculum. My personal style varies on the pupil. These may vary from simply being frustrated with the curriculum to a myriad of influences. My style is considered out of the box, meaning that if the standard method does not "click" with him/her, then I enjoy finding something of interest to them, to relate that to the subject at hand. Keeping a students interest is paramount to keep them enthusiastic about learning.
Along with a Bachelor's Degree in Business, I have many educational experiences in the area of science, math, history (to name a few). In 2006 I taught graphic design topics at Westwood College. In 2007 I taught the same subject at The Creative Circus (roughly equivalent to an MBA program for designers, writers, photographers, and art directors). In 2008 I taught in the design department for Georgia State University. This summer I traveled to a remote region in India to teach English. A Little Bit About Me...

As a history major at Western I had to read many books and an accelerated rate. Also being an English minor I gained analytical and grammatical skills to help better understand pieces of literature I had to read and I can pass those skills to other students.
