Math is fun. Teaching math is more fun. I love playing with numbers and helping children also play with numbers and solve problems in the most easiest manner. I really wonder why does the clock move fast when I am in a math class.

I recently graduated cum laude from the University of Rhode Island with two Bachelors of Science in Marine Geology and Maritime Law. I teach sailing and environmental education in the summers. This means very little however as I aspire, one day, to become a lighthouse keeper. Sadly, few can find such a position these days. As a graduate of the Boston Conservatory of Music, I was trained to be disciplined as a music educator and as a performer. My classroom internship began freshman year and continued until my senior year when I was required to student teach general music classes.I also maintained my vocal performance level by giving recitals and continuing vocal studies even until the present time. I have been a church music director and soloist for twenty-three years and have taught general music in grades Pre-School-8 for twenty-eight years.
I particularly enjoy teaching grades K-5 because they are very eager to learn and explore music through movement, Orff instruments, singing, and dancing. However, I enjoy teaching students who are serious about learning an instrument and want to progress. I believe that all children have a certain potential which can be achieved with perseverance.
