A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching and tutoring children of all ages. Although I have only formally been tutoring for about 6 years, I was a tutor all through my childhood helping other children learn when I finished with my classwork. Since first grade I have always wanted to be a teacher, although my brain tried to steer me in a different direction in college. Yet, my heart brought me back to teaching. I am very considerate of every child no matter their weakness; however I play close attention to their strenghts and play off those strenghts in the classroom. I like observing students and assessing their needs. Then finding fun and instructive materials to assist them with their learning. With ESL students it is very important to find their areas of weakness and fill in the gaps. Every student has different needs. They need to focus on these areas so they can succeed in the regular classroom.
As a teacher with ten years of experience I have taught all ages of students K-12. Most of my experience is in ESL. I am certified Elementary K-6, ESL K-12, Social Studies, Geography, Sociology, American History, and World History all 6-12.
