Drama is one of my top subjects! I have been both in plays and worked as the stage crew. I have also directed numerous productions in an after school program.

Some children just need a new way of looking at something to understand it. Children might also need just little more time to understand something that schools just don't have the time to give. I am patient, caring and I can think outside the box if a student needs a new way to look at a problem.

Three teachers impacted my life not only as a result of the content of their classes but in their delivery. All three approached learning as an adventure. Even though the topics ranged from sixth grade mathematics to fluid dynamics each teacher keyed their presentation on the reception of the students. If the first presentation didn’t get the topic across an alternative presentation was made, often in a humorous vein. Students were never allowed to feel inadequate. I began working with children who were diagnosed with autism my first year of college (I did this for 7 years). I felt a sense of accomplishment as I watched them grow as people. I realized through these experiences that I wanted to help people learn and become accomplished. Later, I decided to student teach in graduate school.
