I have a Minnesota teaching license in PreK age 3-K, Elementary Education K-6, and Middle School Math 5-8. I have returned to college twice to add additional licenses to continue my education. I have been a licensed teacher since 2004 with a wide variety of experience including a classroom teacher, preschool teacher, after school teacher working with small groups of elementary children struggling in math and reading, teaching summer school to middle school students struggling in math, and one-on-one tutoring to elementary age children to get them caught up or back on track. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in second grade. I think it is so important for children to be successful in school so they enjoy their experience and want to go to school. After graduating from high school as valedictorian, I earned a Zoology BS and a Studio Art BA from SUNY Oswego, successfully completing English composition, speech, visual arts, biology, zoology, chemistry, Spanish, and calculus II courses, and graduated with a 3.76 GPA. Prior, I had taken and earned over a 90% in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and AP calculus. While completing an MFA from WCSU, I began 3 years of service as a tutor with NY GEAR UP of The Research Foundation of SUNY, providing academic assistance to students, grades 9-12th in core and non-core subjects, as well as Regents, SAT, and ACT exam prep.
