Northland Learning Solutions specializes in one-on-one dyslexia tutoring, in a warm, friendly atmosphere. Additionally, we have discovered that our program is beneficial to anyone requiring assistance in reading and spelling. Northland Learning Solutions offers professional tutoring services to the surrounding communities. Our Orton-Gillingham based tutoring system utilizes the Barton Reading and Spelling System. Our trained tutors work personally with students for one hour, 2 to 3 times a week. We do not tutor in a group setting.

I have been teaching for over twenty years, primarily Middle School Language Arts. I have also taught Head Start, fourth grade, third through eighth grade science, and kindergarten through eighth grade music. I earned my Master’s degree in Classroom Education with an emphasis in MS Language Arts. When I first started college, I had no idea what to major in. I started taking creative writing and literature classes though, and found my niche in English. I enjoy writing, reading, proofreading, checking grammar and punctuation, and find myself reviewing billboards and magazines for errors. I've been able to put these skills to actual use as an instructor, tutor, and advisor for college students. I have taught Business Writing, Business Communication, and Keyboarding classes.
