An Exceptional Teacher for Exceptional Students!

My teaching style is one of engaging, fun style. I believe that students should love to learn. Students should be allowed to academically express themselves to the teacher. This helps to facilitate learning. Appropriate questioning of the topic gets all students involved in the curriculum. I always help the students to relate to the topic by using prior knowledge. Differentiated instruction is given to all students in a caring, private method.

Never stop learning!

I grasped the importance of education at a very young age and excelled throughout school. Early in my youth I also developed a sincere passion for helping fellow classmates who I saw were having difficulties comprehending course material. I had a knack for connecting with students, identifying the point of confusion, and creating different avenues to reach full comprehension of a subject matter. I have since went on to develop tutoring groups on all educational levels. I co-founded a youth group T.U.F.F. (Teach Us First Foundation) where we attend local elementary schools offering tutoring services in Math, English, Sciences and Social Studies. During high school I developed a teen study group entitled Let's Rap where we would meet (with professional tutors on site), assist each other with homework and discuss any material that was causing confusion in class. During my time at Albany ... read more

Teaching the way that my students learn best.

I have teaching experience with both general education and special education on the middle school level as well as the elementary level through my private school experience. I am currently a general education reading teacher who has high expectation of all of my students. My teaching experience includes working with general education and team taught settings with students who have various IEP’s goals and objectives for the past 6 years. As a teacher, I think that it is very important to meet the needs of the whole child as well as their educational needs. I strive to show my students respect, honesty, kindness, and a kind heart at all times. In doing so, I have achieved many success moments with encouraging my students to meet their goals and objectives. Furthermore, my current position enables me to provide my second language learner students with “fundamental reading skills” ... read more

My comments on tutoring Literature : Literature analysis is something I do recreationally; I am an avid reader.

I have personally excelled in English/Language Arts for the entirety of my schooling career. I love to read and write, and as an English major have had a significant amount of experience analyzing literature and writing essays of various types. I have done some small-time tutoring for younger family members and friends in the past and am looking to expand my clientele.

I love working with people and helping them. I believe in constructive discussion, using aids of whatever sort to help make points, and to pick up on a person's true learning style. Some learn from reading, some from doing, some from trial and error. Once you pick up on that you can move forward much more efficiently in terms of helping someone grasp the subject matter in question.
