Piano Pedagogy, as my minor, helped me learn and analyze teaching methods. I studied piano, with weekly lessons, for 15 years of my life. I then taught piano lessons. I typically taught 25 lessons per week for 18 months.
I was then offered a teaching position for The Academy for Global Exploration, a college-preparatory private school that takes students on adventure travel semesters, covering their studies in various locations. We went to South Africa. The courses I covered every day throughout the semester included Health, Sociology, World Literature and American Literature. The thing that interests me most about music learning is the resultant strengthening in the brain’s neural synapses. For this reason, it is an effective study for improving the fine motor skills of stroke patients, as well as for developing and strengthening the neural firing patterns across the cerebral cortex
