My comments on tutoring Study Skills : There are so many study "tricks" .... what is the best for your learning style?

I have taught middle school language arts for 15 years in both public and private schools. I excel in teaching young people how to write clearly, completely, and concisely. While I can teach them grammar, punctuation, spelling, organization, and research skills. CONTENT often comes from the heart rather than the head. I have had several of my students win awards in writing completions. One struggling 8th grader worked so hard that he was accepted into an Honors English Class his freshman year in high school.
I believe that grammar and punctuation are critical in written expression. I am very focused on the learning style of the student and will begin with most student making that determination and connection with the student.
