Economics is one of my top subjects! I have a bachelor in Economics

During my four years of studies, I have been tutoring one on one French to Middle School and college students. In a stress free atmosphere, I was able to help students with their homework as well as teaching them the language using a personalized curriculum. What makes me special is that French is my first language and it's a language that I still used everyday to communicate.

Economics is one of my top subjects! Bachelor's degree in Economics from Bowling Green State University Master's degree in Economics with a specialization in Community and Economic Development at Illinois State University One year's experience as an Economics tutor at BGSU

I graduated from Bowling Green State University, primarily having studied Economics, French and Spanish. During this time, I studied abroad in Tours, France, and Xalapa, Mexico. I went on to get a Master's Degree in Applied Economics with a specialization in Community and Economic Development and then volunteered with Peace Corps in Costa Rica where I worked with microfinance institutions, helping them to improve the administration of their businesses.
As a Peace Corps volunteer, I learned to adapt my style to the needs of the student, however I like to allow the student to drive the learning activity as much as possible. I also try to incorporate more concrete experiences into the lesson plan as much as possible, combining theory with practice.

A Little Bit About Me...

I worked a full-time job while also attending school full-time while earning my Degree. I am a person who values the benefits of an educaiton very much. Through my education ,business, and life experiences, I have a lot of valuable things to offer the children you work with. I feel that math is my strongest subject; but I truly believe I can teach any subject to any child up to the 9th grade level.
I am a very easy-going funloving person. But I also expect the same respect from children and their parents as they expect from me. I try to find out what things childen are interested in, then I try to adopt the subject material and my style to use that to help them to learn. Learning should be fun, not a chore.

A Little Bit About Me...

My tutoring experience started my sophmore year of college, as I was attending EMU. It started in the classroom, helping out classmates, etc. From that moment, people started to ask me for a help on a daily basis. That is when study groups were created, where I would either tutor a group of people or one individual at a time on weekends. I am still tutoring some middle and high schoolers in math and science. I also tutor now college students in Spanish and French.
I can't really say I have a style since I believe in adapting to the student(s) in front of me. Everybody is unique, so I must use different techniques to convey the same message to different students. I am very patient, I try to have my student thinking with me on the journey to find the answer. I can't give the answer away otherwise that student may never learn.

Although a senior about 20 credits from my BS, I know I am qualified for this job. My passion for Chemistry rubs off on those around me. With a near 4.0 GPA, I always earn the top score in my class, only once did I get less than perfect on a Science test, a 99%. Students began asking for help. From my first Science course, I helped many students drastically improve their grades. Professors gave my name out to students and I have taught many each term. When my Prof. was going to miss class she asked me to teach instead. My lab reports were always perfect; the Prof. copied them for future classes. I earned the only student research grant. Researching a method to detect pathogen DNA; my work continues to be published.
I wanted to excite others as Chemistry had excited me. I teach the material and why it is so exciting. My style adapts to that specific student’s strengths, weaknes ... read more

I have a comfortable style of teaching. I like to keep the session informal so the person can ask questions at any time and I believe that a person should understand the materials and not memorize it so this makes me challenge them for complete understanding and better retention of that knowledge.
As a financial analysis, I am very driven in my field. I have earned a Bachelors of Science at the University of Toledo in 2008 then was hired directly out of college. Doing so has improved my teaching, grammatical, listening, and mentoring skills. In the past year I have trained countless people in a one on one and group sessions. A Little Bit About Me...

I thoroughly love teaching as I come from a line of teachers myself. I have demonstrated that learning happens on multiple levels depending on what level one is working on. In my experience, I have learned that understanding is a process which involves listening, question and answer, humility, multiple approaches (including mixed media, visual and audio stimulus, humor, etc.), and a general openness to learn. Patience is key, and to learn is not just to memorize--it is to understand. Through the learning of the knowledge of relationships and the inter-working of things is understanding of subject material attained. We are all children, and as children we strive to break the barriers that close our minds. A good teacher knows how to ferret out these barriers that prevent our learning and open the doors to discovery and thought. It is with this knowledge that every student I have ta ... read more
