I love working with students and researchers, and I have what I call an open door teaching philosophy. I believe that a successful teacher is patient and available to students. I also believe that questions are as important as answers, and that students learn best in environments in which they are encouraged to ask questions and make mistakes. Students learn through trial and error, and it is important to nurture that process. Thus, teaching is not only about correcting students, but also about showing approval for what a student has done right.
I have earned four degrees from Louisiana Tech University, a B.A. in History with a double major in Political Science (2007), a B.A. in English with a minor in Cultural Resources (2007), a Post-Bacc in Technical Communication (2008), and an M.
