I enjoy teaching students of all ages.I do not have a set teaching style. I use several methods during our tutoring sessions. I believe that each student is unique and they have their own method of learning information. I help the student identify this method and we work together to expand the student’s knowledge in the given subject. A Little Bit About Me...

What I have learned working with students is that many do not learn in the same manner. I beleive in what is called top process learning. Given the student a concept and allowing them to explore the possibilities of how one arrives at such a concept has allowed deeper critical thinking and strategic planning. However, this method is not predominately taught in Georgia education system. I have found this method to be very effective. The other method is patience. Students who strugge with their academic learning usually are having other areas of difficulty which may be social learning. Having clinical training allows me to make a more accurate assessment.

My teaching style is conversational and generally straightforward. I work through translators, so it is important to keep a positive presentation style to avoid misinterpretation and miscommunication. After each segment, I ask the students if they have any questions or concerns. The students are also invited to stop me at any time to ask me questions. I also like to provide visual demonstrations on a white board, which helps me to explain my point in further detail. I provide all my students with my Powerpoint presentation translated into the Bhutanese and Burmese language so that the students have a guide for future reference. A Little Bit About Me...

I love children of all ages, including Middle School and Highschool. I do not alweats go by the book. I do what I feel is best for that particular child's learning style. I teach outside the box and encourage learning rather than straight memorization. I help children love learning.
I taught in public school and private. While doing so and during summers, I tutored on my own. I got married in 1986, had three children and stayed out of the classroom for a while. I homeschooled my own children and began an ACCREDITED highschool for home schoolers. I taught and tutored all subjects. I have also worked with several learning disabled children. I can teach/tutor pretty much any subject ages K-college. I have also worked in the Writing Lab at Clayton State College. I feeel very qualified for this job.

I could tutor social studies up through high school because I have found such a great overlap between religion and counseling and human services.
