A Little Bit About Me...

I have excelled in mathematics going all the way back to elementary school. Studied general mathematics in college. Have tutored at least 20 students on a variety of subjects in math, outside of school involvement. Worked in the math tutor lab at CSU during enrollment. I have tutored students in middle school and below on general subjects also (i.e science, social studies, english, etc).
I am a huge advocate of learning 'why' something happens vs 'how' it happens. In mathematics, anyone can learn a formula, an expression, or an equation if they look at it enough times, but they would not know how to apply it in real life situations. However, if a students learns the application of the formula and how it works, bigger chances they will remember it or can derive it when recalling the information. Learning the 'why' WILL lead to learning the 'how'

I have had a lot of experience in several Georgia school systems. I have taught, student taught, and substituted. I have done long term substituting a couple times. I have tutored several students. Harvard student tutoring in SAT, math, and college apps

I am a recent high school graduate attending Harvard College in the fall looking to spread my passion for learning and discovery to others.
