I am a listener first and foremost. I want to know what my students expect from me and in what areas s/he regard as most essential to her/his success. I believe all people can learn and understand. It is a pleasure to watch students grow in skill and comprehension and move toward confidence.
I love teaching. I earned my BA before I was old enough to vote. While my classmates were in his/her senior year, I was teaching. Eventually I earned my M.Ed. in Reading, then started School Administration and Adult Education. In all these fields I find similar necessary skills: patience, co-operation among staff and colleagues, knowledge of subject matter, communication with the community and parents and a well defined curriculum. After college I taught art for two years at Mount Vernon high school in Illinois. I taught basic art classes as well as junior and senior design classes. A Little Bit About Me...

I am currently a graduate student in a Clinical Counseling Program. I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in 2002 with a 3.89 GPA, my current graduate GPA is 4.0. I have previously worked as a Substitute Teacher and Remedial Reading Tutor for fifth and sixth graders while in college. I have worked as a Sunday School Teacher and Youth Pastor for teenagers. I have ten years of public speaking experience and excellent communication skills. My writing skills are excellent and could work with students on a variety of issues concerning reading/writing.
