I have tutored students both with and without learning disabilities. In my 15 years as a teacher in elementary and high school, and as a tutor, I have covered math through algebra and geometry,biology, geography/history, chemistry and physics. I am capable of tutoring college level courses in math and science, too. I believe each person is capable of learning, and that a report card can be improved by learning 'how to learn'. I have been lucky to secure jobs that have given me extensive experience as a Financial analyst in different industies including Healthcare.
I previously taught foreign students through a grant with Buffalo State Research foundation for 2 yrs and it needed patience due to the language barrier we had to work on in addition to the school work. Teaching is such a rewarding experience. It is an amazing feeling when you help a student learn something that they previously had been struggling with. My goal is to help the student by becoming interested in the material. If the student is interested in the material, they will have a better chance of learning it.
