I tend to prefer a Socratic method of teaching where the student discovers the answer through discussion, reading and research. I will use direct instruction on occassion when the need arises but my classroom is typically humming with group work and whole class discussions.

I have over thirty years of experience in the field of both Elementary and Secondary Education. Turning your weakness into your strength

I help guide the student along, having them discover much of the information in a trial and error fashion. I tend to use the questions they are struggling with the most, making similar examples, then walking them through these problems and breaking down the problems until the student understands the how the process works.
I have been tutoring for over seven years, starting with my peers in tenth grade. I have tutored a wide range of subjects, from Geometry through Calculus III, from general computer knowledge through utilizing the advanced functions of Microsoft Access. I observe the students to see what their learning style is and adjust how I teach according to that.
For nine years I taught at the elementary level in private schools. I taught some inclusive classes and developed plans for my students to succeed. Identifying a student's learning style and giving them the tools to progress gave them the ability and confidence to do well. A Little Bit About Me...

I have done school tutoring and some tutoring with younger family memebers who are dyslexic and who have ADHD. I havent had any exsperince with people outside of school and family but I found out that my ways of learning are very helpful and I think I can provide them to children who need helpin any subject.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a disciplinarian. I have an excellent ability to gain a students attention, keep it and the results of my students have been well above average. A Little Bit About Me...
