My comments on tutoring Anatomy : I have tutored many subjects for over 10 years with exceptional success, including Anatomy.

I consider myself to be a uniquely seasoned, qualified, and experienced tutor who can adapt to any situation and to any student in order to benefit their education and learning experience. Due to my ability to teach and tutor children and adults of all ages, (in addition to my own near-perfect scores on the SAT & ACT) I was one of the first Instructors hired by PrepExpert, a national company that specializes in preparing students for the SAT, ACT, AP, other exams, and simply for help in regular classes at all levels. This company is so successful and growing so fast because of the unparalleled improvements among students that it recently appeared on ABC's show "Shark Tank," during which Mark Cuban was impressed enough to buy a substantial stake in the company and is a current partner. Creating Independent Learners

My experience dates back to when I was in high school in the early 80's tutoring students and family members. I've also taught classes on Management of Aggressive Behavior / Appled Non-Violence to mental health professionals throughout the Las Vegas Valley and surrounding communities. I also worked as teacher assistant in the mental health setting working with special needs students. I've worked as a Literacy Tutor at CSN in which I developed and implemented lesson plans for a class of eleven students at the middle school . I have my Teaching credentials through NV Dept. of Education as Certified Substitute Teacher ( K- 12 ). I currently substitute/guest teach within the CCSD.
I'm a follower of traditional teaching methods. I believe in the unique triangular team-centered approach involving myself, students and parents. Creating Independent Learners by setting an atmosphere that i ... read more

As an education student, I saw many opportunities in that field. I also saw the diversity of learners, and the need for a diversity in the way education is approached. I began to challenge myself by removing limitations like language, and searching for alternative techniques to teaching students of different cultural, socioeconomic, religious and behavioral backgrounds. Through my efforts, I found that to teach is to learn twice over, and that teaching can be beneficial for the student as well as the educator. I fell in love with education, and will never look back!
Throughout my career as a student, I have always prided myself on the ability to help others learn. When I was a high school student, I was the one other students would come to with questions, and I always gave an answer with confidence. Then I got to college and began to study Biology. I was so amazed at the broad spec ... read more

I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others, especially children to whom I provide exposure and enthusiasm of learning and understanding, so that they not only understand what they need to know, but can discover that they want to know more and can find the information themselves. Because I continue to read books and search the internet to satisfy my own thirst for knowledge, I know where the resources are for my students. Each child wants to learn—it is a survival instinct; but each child is different and will learn in different ways. I have the patience and the creativity to find the most effective teaching method for the child’s academic success. And most of all, I believe learning is fun.
Excellence in education and curiosity in the natural world, instilled in me since elementary school, has driven me to be an “A” student through my college education. The curriculums in premed ... read more

More About This Tutor...

I graduated in May 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. In college I took a variety of courses but focused on the sciences. I became a Resident Assistant in my second year and remained one through the end of college. My responsibilities were to enforce the school's policies while being available to the dorm students for support and individual needs. During my last year in college I was a tutor for twin boys in fifth grade. I have a strong academic foundation and feel very comfortable and patient when educating others.
I always begin by reinforcing the basic and main principles first. I believe that a good education begins with a strong foundation. At that point it gets interesting as we can propose real life scenarios, change variables, and add in new information. Every child learns differently, which is why I also make a point to observe how he/she responds to ... read more

My desires have motivated me to earn a double majored BS in agriculture, an applied science, and a MS in biology. I taught laboratory classes while I was a student. I began working as a tutor in 1999. This motivated me to become teacher trained. I am an AVID certified tutor. I have tutored middle school, high school, and college students in biology, chemistry, physics, environmental sciences, title-I math and language arts, prealgebra, HS algebra I & II, college algebra, pre-calculus. A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of UC Berkeley, I worked to meet the high expectations of that school. I take education very seriously. I have earned a bachelor's degree in Latin American Studies and an associate's degree in Mechanical Electrical Technology. This has given me skills in language as well as logistical understanding. In addition, I have learned skills in Teaching English through my certificate in ESL and my work experience as a teacher of English as a Second Language.
I am very patient. I like to know ahead of time what the subject is, get the textbook, and study it before talking to the student. I like to know what areas the student is having difficulty in by giving an assessment test. Once we pinpoint the problem, I try to develop exercises to strengthen the student's skills and simultaneously boost their self-esteem. Whether it is math or languages, their are basic patterns t ... read more

My teaching style is highly influenced by the type of student that I teach. As a teacher of deaf students, my teaching must be very visual and hands-on. I find this lends itself well to teaching students who might be struggling in a regular classroom environment as well. I always begin by activating any prior knowledge a student might have in a given area, then establishing the goals that need to be met, engaging the child with relevant activities, and going from guided instruction to independent practice.
Since beginning college in 1994, I have been involved with teaching and/or tutoring students, hearing and deaf. My experience teaching ranges from preschool to high school, typically developing children to those with disabilities, from impoverished and affluent areas. My tutoring has been both with a nationwide tutoring chain, as well as with a privately owned company. I ha ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

The way I teach is very simple. I explain my teaching style using the analogy of a mother bird teaching her baby how to fly. The mother guides her baby, teaching it, showing it the ropes of life, and when it comes time, the baby flies off on its own with no help. This is quite similar to how I teach and tutor children. I guide them through lesson plans and homework with a helping hand, and when it comes time for them to "fly," I let them go and hopefully they will understand the concept and be able to work individually. When this happens, it is truly an inspiring moment, to be there and watch children grow.
Even before I graduated from NDNU with my teaching credential in English and social studies, I have tutored for several years in almost every subject. I have come to understand that each individual has his/her own unique way of learning.
