College Student Eager to Tutor

I am patient and love to give one on one attention. I give all the time that is needed for the student to understand the material. I like to do a hands-on or demonstration to explain a topic, explain it with examples and then give practice problems.

It is my belief that every person learns differently. Students learn best by different methods and learn at different methods. I find that the best way to tech a student, especially in a one on one environment is to find how the individual best learns and use that, rather than trying to teach by any already formulated method.

For middle school children learning math and English, I feel like giving them lots of practice problems and going over it together really seems to help. For students in high school it usually depends on the kid. By this age most of them have discovered if they are visual, kinetic, or auditory learners.
