I graduated in June 2006 with an M.F.A in Fiction Writing from Pacific University. I graduated Summa Cum Laude, in May 2004, with a B.A. in English and a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Idaho. I am passionate about teaching and learning, and I love all people. I am an advocate of task-based learning, multiple intelligences, and the all-around inductive/constructivist approach to learning. I am a firm believer in the idea that all people have the same innate capacity to learn, but that this is manifested in different ways. I believe in a multifaceted approach to the different types of learners, aural, visual, kinesthetic, and reading/writing and aim to incorporate all learning styles in my teaching. I watched my brother struggle through school and learning disabilities all his life, so I tutored him through math and English since 7th grade. I found if you connect with a student and create ways that speak to him, you can foster learning. I helped my brother write flow charts on full-length mirrors to chart plotlines from books.
