I was asked to apply for an undergraduate teaching assistant position at The University of Montana. The following year, I assisted in the laboratory sections of Anatomy and Physiology, teaching basic biology and advanced anatomy and physiology (A&P). I now serve as an instructor, teaching two sections of A&P. In addition, I have served as a student advisor, guiding incoming freshman and assisting them in schedule structure and course loads. I have discovered a love and aptitude for teaching. At times it can frustrate and challenge even the most patient instructors. My award for service learning integrated information from the fields of Education and Sociology to improve learning opportunities for abused children.
