The Achievement Centers, our after school tutorial/diagnostic clinic and before and after school care, is available for all ages and subjects. Tutoring and diagnostic testing is available after school, evenings (Monday – Friday) and Saturday mornings. The clinic is available year-round. Our testing clinician and school psychologist offer a Psychoeducational Evaluation to all new students. The testing is scheduled for two three hour sessions on separate days during after school hours. The evaluation consist of various test measuring a student’s cognitive abilities, processing skills, IQ, and academic levels. I have been teaching for 25 years. I began as a high-school teacher, taught grade school and special education, and then spent 20 years as a university professor of English and philosophy. I started tutoring as a graduate student and have been doing it on and off now for 20 years.

A Little Bit About Me...

My tutoring style is eclectic so I can reach each student with an unique insight that will help that student understand a concept or solve a problem. Once I get to know how a student thinks, I work with his/her strengths and try to compensate the student's weaknesses by working at his/her level and then bringing the student to a level where he/she needs to be.
I have both practical and conceptual understanding of mathematics as I have tutored kids and taught mathematics at a high school level. In addition, I have certifications in biology, chemistry, physics, and computer science. I like making connections among different subjects and providing practical examples as the situation warrants. I get a lot of satisfaction when students grasp a new concept. It makes my day!
