My comments on tutoring Chess : Fun game that take strategy and planning.

I obtained a B.S. in Biology, with a concentration in aquatic science, from Wittenberg University in 2006. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored elementary students in math and science twice a week for two years. After college, I moved into the marine science profession. In August of 2008, I started teaching High School Biology I, Earth and Space Science, and Physical Science to students in Polk County. In addition, after school hours were spent with two students taking AP Biology classes. Both students achieved a 4 or higher on their placement exams. In my experience, I do not teach but simply assist people who need it. In college I helped my friends by explaining how to correct their writing, and offering advice. I am patient and willing to help as best as I can without being condescending towards students.

I have a dual approach to teaching languages, including both structured lessons on grammar and also practice learning idiomatic phrases. I think it's important to approach foreign language practically, so that people can learn basic communication skills without necessarily knowing all of the grammar.
