Latin is one of my top subjects! I have five years' experience in learning Latin. I took Latin all through High School and while at University.

During my high school and university careers, I have focused primarily on languages and language acquisition. I have studied 12 different languages and I have obtained varying degrees of proficiency in each of them: Latin, Romanian, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, German, Danish, Swedish, Greek, Scottish Gaelic, and Welsh. I am most proficient in Russian and Latin, with conversational proficiency in Danish, French, and Spanish. In all others, I have basic/intermediate proficiency skills. I also focused on history and historical circumspection. I minored in History while at University, taking many various history courses. I have a solid foundation in Russian History, American History, and European History, particularly in English, Scottish, and French History.

I believe that education should be a voyage of discovery for both the student and the teacher. All too often students become demotivated and demoralised, losing faith in their instincts and abilities. Through sensitive tutoring I aim to reawaken an enthusiasm for learning in my students - to tap into their natural curiosity and resourcefulness to enable them to take ownership of their education and meet their potential. I have a strong working knowledge of different learning styles and teaching theories and am careful to tailor lessons to learners' specific needs and aptitudes.
I have a First Class BA in English from Oxford University and a Masters in Film. After graduating I worked with an educational consultancy where I helped to create learning materials for numerous children and adults, many of whom were learning English as a second language or had dyslexia. I am a huge supporter of the idea that anyone can learn anything that they desire. With that being said, it seems that there should be no problem with students learning mathematics; but there is. Many children have no desire to learn mathematics because they see no relevance for it in their daily lives. I very much enjoy working with children and when I tutor, I enjoy making math more fun and relevant for them. I have had much success doing so, for I have a strong ability to put understanding in students' minds, where understanding did not previously exist. I believe that good education can make a world of difference in children's lives.
