A Little Bit About Me...

As a student in a four year college, I have applied myself to every singe subject that there was to conquer. In some areas I shined, but it some areas I had difficulties. But at the end of the day I was learning from the best and took in all that I could, in order to continue my education, pass on the knowledge to my future children, and finally use education as a source to progress in our civilization. During my college years I was able to participate in study groups and help out fellow students in some subjects, (if they had difficulties understanding). College courses such as Writing, Reading, Art, Music, Business, Science, and Math gave me a well rounded educational experience and development as a student.

As an English major, I spent all 4 years at my private instutition tutoring my fellow students, not only in English and writing courses, but in all academic classes in which I had received a grade of "A" or "B". 3 of my 4 years at Lindsey Wilson were spent in the Education department, as I originally wanted to be a high school English teacher. I also spent several summers as a Camp Counselor, working with children aged 7-15 as well.

In 1984 and 1985, I taught for two years in the Lebanon, OH, Christian School, grades 4,5, & 6. For the past 10 years I have been teaching in the Weekend Degree Program at Xavier University, Cincinnati, OH. I am an adjunct professor in the Theology Department and teach Theological Foundations to non-traditional students. Besides teaching principles of faith and religion and world religions, I emphasize the art of dialogue as a way to communicate and to interact with others - actually, as a lifestyle.

I would make a great tutor because I am still a student myself. I am in my last semester of law school and hold a BA in English. I have been a student my entire adult life and have a good grasp on many subjects. I am very down to earth and friendly and love working with children of all ages. I am not fluent in French but took a lot of French in high school and college. Also, I am a very good writer and have excellent grammar skills.
