My comments on tutoring Sculpting : I've worked with quite a few different materials and could easily teach you how to hone your skills in from beginner to novice levels. No firing materials unless you have access to a kiln.

Hands on and detailed lecture. I talk fast, but I teach you to work fast as well. The hardest part of my lesson will be knowing when to put it down and call something finished. I love to laugh, be loud and have a great time. It's a joy to teach and I make sure it's a joy to learn as well.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Art Institute in 2004 with top honors and a nomination for Best Demo Reel. I taught for a semester in 2004 at the Institute and went on to teach privately the the next two years (tutor). I became a photoshop trainer at work and an Art Director of a million dollar graphic design firm by 2007. I have flown to Cape Town in South Africa and Canberra in Australia to teach crash course photoshop seminars- up to 8 people with no computer experience at all. I have lead a team of 15 in photo editing for a professional studio and still teach privately today.

Sculpting is one of my top subjects! I have been sculpting as a hobby for the past 12 years. I have experience in creating full size busts of various characters including the alien "Predator". My medium of choice is modeling clay "Chavant NSP Medium" although I have worked with other various clays. I have experience in life casting, mold making, prosthetic creation, and prop making. I am currently about to finish a T-Rex model inspired by Stan Winston's work in jurassic park, which I will be mass producing and selling as a paint it your self model in addition to creating a "Kickstarter" to help acquire funding. I am self taught and believe I can contribute a great deal not only in your sculpting ability but also your ability to continue learning and self teach.

I don't have much teaching experience but I will adjust my teaching style to each individual student's interests and needs.
I am a highly motivated individual that enjoys working with other. While having a solid education in Finance & Accounting I also pride my self in my artistic and creative abilities. My grandfather had me using power tools to build projects even in elementary school and I know that starting young and observing my grandpa has had a significant influence on my ability to teach my self and create essentially anything I set my mind to. I can assure you that my experience in sculpting will contribute greatly to your artistic ability and my well rounded knowledge will assist in nearly any project you would like to take on.

Having parents that place a great emphasis in achieving higher education, I graduated from high school with the age of 15 years old and was accepted in National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, for the degree in Life Science Biology. While studying in Taiwan,I offered individual tutoring in Spanish and English for college students and adults who wanted to improve their knowledge on the language. After two years of studying in Taiwan, I decided to expand my horizons in education and applied for Brigham Young University Hawaii for the major of Psychology.During the time I spent studying in Brigham Young University Hawaii, I worked for the Counseling Department as tutor for a variety of subjects from Foreign Languages (such as Chinese and Spanish) to General Education (such as Psychology, Biology, History, Art, etc). A Little Bit About Me...

I have a wide range of teaching experience with K-12 students who have difficulty learning in a mainstream classroom. My academic background consists of a M.A.T. in Elementary Education, a B.A. in Audiology, and seven credit hours in graduate coursework. I have a valid Florida teaching license. My work history includes being a EDEP group leader and substitute teacher for Volusia County School District, teaching first grade, and working as a teacher of the hearing impaired and speech assistant for K-12 students in several public school systems.
My teaching style addresses each student as an individual with unique abilities and strengths. I believe that it is important to create a positive learning environment for the child and instill a "can-do" attitude. I approach the teaching of a difficult concept by evaluating the child's current level of knowledge and using task analysis ... read more

My priority in teaching is to help ALL my students realize they can achieve excellence. I expect respect and BEST effort in academics and behavior at all times. Students are eager to rise to this which I reward daily. I teach that learning is FUN! I love using hands-on activities where kids can use many senses. I do not have one teaching style. Just as people have individual learning styles, I adapt my teaching style to the student and to the course that I would be tutoring. It is important that all students graduate with all the knowledge, skills, abilities, and values to have a happy and productive life. In order to have this happen, I do not believe that one teaching style fits all. As a tutor I would show my students how to properly do a task, and then I will help them master the task. It is important the student understand and can independently demonstrate what they have learned. No matter what teaching style I use, it will be a style that would be interesting and encourage the student to participation, and to ask for help.
The scope of my teaching experience is non-traditional teachings. I taught middle school girls and adults in craft courses. While my children were in ... read more

I have many years of elementary reading tutoring experience. This started at a young age, as my mother was an elementary public school remedial reading teacher. I was fortunate enough to be able to attend a private school, which left me with certain vacation times differing. Rather than getting a sitter and have me stay home my mother took me to her school with her to have me assist and help out with the students and their reading difficulties. This in turn at a young age made me enjoy helping others to learn. I see daily how important it is that they grasp these concepts of reading and comprehension as soon as possible because if not it can interfere with every other aspect of their education as well as their self esteem.
My teaching style involves patience and finding out what exactly the student is not grasping, and figuring out how each individual learns. Each person respo ... read more

My goal as a teacher is to meet the individual needs of students, teaching them “how” to learn, and guiding them towards their full potential as learners and citizens. I strive to use strengths to turn weaknesses into success. I enjoy using many instructional methods, finding “the one” that can make a concept come to life. I feel it is imperative to “reach before teach” when it comes to identifying and meeting needs. Developing a bond of trust and commitment leads to a less stressful environment, opening the door to creative learning with little fear of failure. I use a lot of humor in my teaching; I like puns and really bad jokes and I’ve been known to dress in costume or speak in an accent all day.
I spent much time in college working with local teachers and tutoring their students. Upon graduation, I spent a year teaching 4th grade in a private school. In Florida, I continu ... read more

My degree in psychology, as well as my experiences working in a classroom setting, and my own experience as a student has helped me understand that everyone gains knowledge differently and that subsequently there are different learning styles. Working with children from divergent backgrounds has enabled me to work with these different learning styles, as well as students with special needs. Resourcefulness, tenacity, patience, and creativity are important tools for me when working with children, including tutoring. It is important to assess the individual needs of each student in order to ascertain the best teaching approach. All children deserve the opportunity to learn and achieve their best.
