I like to get to know each individual and find out how they learn. From there I can figure out what will work for them and what won't.
I have tutored individuals in grades 1-12 in various subject areas. I have been encouraged to pursue English, Writing, and Journalism as professions because of my talent in each area. I believe in curtailing the teaching experience specific to the student and understanding how best the student learns, either through visual or auditory stimuli. One of the best attributes a student can learn is critical thinking and to think beyond what is written on the paper. I approach critical thinking by researching numerous resources from which to learn. This allows the student to reflect on these various sources when studying and preparing, which makes for a well rounded student.
