Math and Business Tutor

I have completed all College level Math classes for an Electical Engineering degree. Math is my area of expertise. I also have several other areas that I have tutored and been able to help students (see my course list). My experience includes 25 years of real world experience in the engineering and business fields which when balanced with my book based knowledge has allowed me to improve the tutoring experience by providing concrete, real world examples within several study areas.
Open to what style works best for the student. I can teach directly through examples, check work that the client has completed, ensure preparation for any test is adequate, etc.

I am currently tuoring at an Academic Development Center and Student Support Services as a psychology and math tutor. I love sharing my knowledge with others and at the same time, I learn and gain alot from my students. When students come in with questions, I will first ask them what subject is it for, does the teacher give out any guidelines about the assignment, and what difficulties you have with this assignment. If it is math problem, I'll do serveral problems step-by-step with my students. Then, I'll pick a problem that was similiar to the problem that we just worked with, and ask them to do it. If they still have problems, I'll show the steps again one more time until they get it.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have recently graduated from Indiana University with a Master's Degree in English. As a graduate student at Indiana University, I taught a freshman composition course which focused on critical reading and writing skills. This past year I was nominated for the Best Teacher of Composition Award; this nomination was based mainly on the evaluations I received from my own students at the end of each semester.
