My comments on tutoring Geography : Certified in Social Studies

I believe in teaching to the student and making the subject matter relevant and easy to comprehend. I encourage dialogue an debate in order to fully engage all of my students.
I have been working with the education field for 13 years. I have primarily worked in special education which has given the unique experience o teaching or co-teaching all subject areas. Math and Business Tutor

I have completed all College level Math classes for an Electical Engineering degree. Math is my area of expertise. I also have several other areas that I have tutored and been able to help students (see my course list). My experience includes 25 years of real world experience in the engineering and business fields which when balanced with my book based knowledge has allowed me to improve the tutoring experience by providing concrete, real world examples within several study areas.

As I mentioned in the above paragraph, I meet the child where they are in their learning style. I can adapt to how they learn best and then use different activities and tools to again, "drive home" the concept of what the child may be struggling with. I love teaching anything!
When I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree in 2002, I accepted a job at a small school in upstate NY that needed a PE teacher. I quickly learned to just relax and "go with the flow" of how the students learned the material and what kind of different activities that we could do to "drive home" the concept of what we were studying. I also learned to be very flexible. I wore many many different hats that first year of teaching which has given me to experience I needed in my recent years of teaching. I am passionate about sports, athletics, history and teaching as a whole!
