As I mentioned in the above paragraph, I meet the child where they are in their learning style. I can adapt to how they learn best and then use different activities and tools to again, "drive home" the concept of what the child may be struggling with. I love teaching anything!
When I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree in 2002, I accepted a job at a small school in upstate NY that needed a PE teacher. I quickly learned to just relax and "go with the flow" of how the students learned the material and what kind of different activities that we could do to "drive home" the concept of what we were studying. I also learned to be very flexible. I wore many many different hats that first year of teaching which has given me to experience I needed in my recent years of teaching. I am passionate about sports, athletics, history and teaching as a whole!

I love working with children and have continued to find ways to instruct even during my time as an adminstrator. I am fully trained and certified in Orton-Gillingham techniques to help children and adults with dyslexia. I enjoy helping my students discover connections as they learn, and use engaging, hands-on techniques to keep lessons interesting. I incorporate fun (including origami) whenever possible, especially important when working with children at the end of a long day!
I have taught both regular and special education, early childhood, speech/language correction, and elementary Spanish, before moving into supervisor, principal and, finally, superintendent positions in public schools in southern NJ. As a college graduate, I value the importance of education. I've earned a bachelor degree- a Bs in Biology where I've gained knowledge of science and math. In addition, I also have a Teacher's Certification for Elementary Education in a Hebrew school setting from Midrashah Junior College. Over the past 12 years, I've tutored students in basic Hebrew, Bar and Bat Mitzvah practice, elementary, and middle school math and science.
I have a passion for helping children! Each child learns in a different way, and as teachers it is our job to meet the student where they are. I am patient, and helpful, while still pushing the student to do their best. My goal is to help students develop a love for learning.

A Little Bit About Me...

I like to take a student-centered, holistic approach to education, creating a learning environment where children feel safe to take risks, are respected for their individuality and level of development, and where their inherent potential is recognized and encouraged.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I attended and graduated from Rowan University with a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education. I moved to Germany in 1995, spending time learning German and teaching part-time at the International School of Hamburg. In 1998, I started a one-year, full-time contract, teaching a pre-kindergarten class. After that, I returned to New Jersey, where I worked for 3 years before being offered a permanent position at the International School again in 2002, which I accepted. After holding this position for 8 years, I have now returned home to New Jersey permanently. I have experi ... read more

I don't just teach, I inspire and motivate. I try to help all of my students finish my classes with a high level of enthusiasm.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science in May 2005, from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. I have excellent communications skills, and a very strong teaching /and/ Computer background. I have a remarkable ability to inspire and work with others. Many of my students are from different countries, and struggle with the English language. I presently teach Poker dealers. I do not let this hinder them, or me. I simply teach them enough English to increase their confidence to complete my class. In return, most will send their relatives to my class, because they found that I communicate well with others, no matter what their background.

I became a teacher because I enjoy working with children. I enjoy helping them in their learning process. When they do well in achieving their goal it's rewarding to me. I know I have accomplished something. All my students achieved a grade level or more whether I tutored on my own or with Club Z Tutoring Service.
I believe every child is entitled to an education regardless of any circumstance. They should strive to achieve all they can become. I try to be a teacher with patience, a good listener, and to encourage all my students with a positive attitude. My students needs come first and I try to always have extra time for them if they require it.
