Teaching is my passion. I work extremely well versed at working with kids. I have been working for a before and after school program for 2 years now. I believe in never giving up on any child. In my field experiences I have been in teachers see improvements with their struggling students. In teaching I believe in differentiated instruction. I feel it is important to understand what is different and unique about every student. Not all students will learn in the same way, nor will they find their desire to learn in the same way. I feel it is my duty as a teacher to find what these ways are for every student. Differentiation is vital to the learning process and can only be executed effectively if you know your students.

A Little Bit About Me...

I like children to learn through exploring. This is not to say that I do not teach, but I plan lessons in a way that allows students to learn at their own pace. I feel like if I can put together a lesson that gives children a motivation to learn, they will learn on a deeper level than if I am merely telling them information. With my middle school math students whom I tutored, this meant that we learned about fractions through art. It was not enough to explain to them how fractions worked, I realized that they needed to experience fractions. We spent the same amount of time as the regular class did on fractions, but my students were able to better explain their work.
