I have tutored kids at my Church whenever someone has needed help. I am very patient and understanding of how frustrating certain topics can be, so I know I am a great candidate for tutoring. I am exceptionally great with younger kids who have ADD or ADHD since I have struggled with that myself. I have been a school librarian/media specialist for 26 years. I have worked with students in grades K-12. My role as a librarian enabled me to interact with students of all learning levels. Students who struggled would come to me to find materials that they could understand more easily. During times that I did not have classes in the library, I was usually assigned to tutor students who were in the low percentile groups based on MCT scores. I helped them with language, reading, and math.
I used my skills as a librarian to encourage students to explore and enjoy books. We explored different types of literature genres, researched using the computer, and utilized the reference books in our library. A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of a small junior college I believe one on one teaching gives students the advantage over a large group because the child can receive the necessary attention for learning skills in reading, writing and math. Many children learn differently some are visual learners,some are audio etc. I have been instructed through various techniques in reading with chilldren that will help them achieve a higher reading level of success. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been tutoring for a little over 2 years for both a company and private clients. The tutoring company specializes in under privileged students via the No Child Left Behind Act.
