I have been in the health care profession for almost 20 years. I began my nursing career as a nursing assistant, worked as a LPN for 6 years before I became a RN in 2004. As a small boy I remember going to the small local library in Portsmouth, Virginia where the Librarian once said that she knew that if she would only have one patron for the day that it would be me. I AM THE BEST!

I use a "student-centered" approach. I like to tap into the student's prior knowledge first so I can meet him/her where he/she is. I am a fan of assessments. They can either be verbal, nonverbal, formal, or informal.
