I am a recent graduate from Miami University. I have a degree in Adolescent/Young Adult Social Studies Education and my teaching certification is currently pending. I have over 60 credit hours completed towards a degree in music. My focus as a music student was voice, but I also spent a lot of time studying African American music. Prior to college, I spent 7 years as a percussionist. Combining many of my experiences was time spent in Miami's Urban Teaching Cohort. A Little Bit About Me...

Nothing is better than seeing a huge smile on a child's face once they cath on to something. I love helping children learn by doing a lot of visual activities and practicing! I was always the only person who could help my younger sister study for tests because she said my teaching techinique is very helpful and makes her remember things. It always made me feel good knowing i was the only one who could help her study!
When I first attended Wilmington College, I was in early childhood education. I completed a whole semester of student teaching and volunteered for tutoring after school. I finally had decided that teaching was not for me because I wanted more of an office setting job so i decided to major in business management. I have decided that I want to pursue in subsitute teaching so that I am able to help children and spend more time with my newborn.

My teaching style is laid back and comfortable. I like to use flash cards, fun games, and rhyming teachniques. I think children have to like their teacher to do well. Many of my former students have kept in contact with me over the years.. being invited to their graduations, weddings and other parties.
