My comments on tutoring Marine Biology : Subject that I have taught as an elective subject.

I have a varied style, which is geared to the learning style of my students. I teach world to text, text to text, text to life.
I was employed by the Lakeland Central School District as a substitute Teacher Aide and later in a full time capacity. I worked for the OASIS Program and later at the Alternative High School. After completing my Bachelor's Degree at Concordia College, I applied for and was accepted into the New York City Teaching Fellows Program. I taught Special Education at a high needs urban high school in the Bronx. This was a challenging and rewarding experience. Many of my students continued on to post secondary schools. I am currently finishing my Master's degree program at City College of New York, expected graduation is May 2013.

I have taught in both suburban schools at the high school level and urban schools at the elementary/middle school level. While teaching I previously have tutored students. My main experience teaching has been various science courses but I have also taught math and reading. I began my education thinking I would be an elementary school teacher but then discovered my love of science so I took additional classes while completing my Master's so I could be certified to teach science. When I began teaching I realized many special education students were not receiving the appropriate accommodations to ensure their success so I decided to specialize in Special Education as I pursue my PhD so I can offer the best education to my students and help them become successful and feel confident with their new skills.

I believe a good teacher should have the following attributes. First, they should love their respective subject. Second, they should have real world experience that can tie to the lesson of the day. Third, they should understand the needs and desires of their students. Lastly, they must have a firm but fair method of classroom discipline. With the subject of earth science, I have the passion and experience to make a difference in your student's life.
I have BS degrees in education and industrial engineering. I also have an MS Teachers in Geosciences. I have worked for much of my career as an engineer but have also taught earth science at the high school level for two years in the recent past. A Little Bit About Me...

As a current Director of Health for a large City in Connecticut, I have learned the value of education and the use of my technical skills to communicate with my residents and help them improve their health as well. I have earned multiple degrees in Public Health, Experimental Pathology, Soil and Environmental Sciences. I loved my time in the classroom helping children to love learning both math and science. I believe that all children can love those subjects although many find them difficult.
