A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that a love of school and learning begins with confidence in one's own abilities. Some find it easy, and others need a certain dose of encouragement and guidance to gain that self-assurance. As a tutor, I think it’s important to provide consistent practice and celebrate small successes so that the student rediscovers how good it feels to do well. In addition to regular exercises, I take the time to explain how and why things work and what their applications are in life outside school. I believe that this helps the student understand the rationale behind their efforts and can spark more enthusiasm to learn. I also try to identify each student’s special talents and incorporate them into my curriculum. That way, they can learn to identify what they are good at and how to apply those skills to any subject.
