Although I have been self employed for the last 6 years, I went back to school last year to add Science and Math for middle school to my certification. I passed the Praxis for both of those subjects spring of 2010. I was not able to get a full time teaching position this year. I went back to working for myself but would love to tutor. I have tutored for 3 years while I worked for Tryon Elementary school. I had great success with the students I worked with, in particular concerning math. My teaching style I would describe two-fold: First, my military background taught me their three step process; tell them what you are going to tell them, tell them, and then tell them what you told them and my own personal style which is a hybrid of the discovery method and guided question and answer.
