I have been teaching in Chico, California for the past 26 years. I have experience with grades K-6, but really prefer 2-5th grades. I have tutored for many years, helping struggling students catch up with their peers. I have many tricks and resources to use. I have laptops and curriculum, not to mention a in-depth knowledge of state standards. I know what the children will be expected to accomplish on Common Core Standardized Tests. I can help prepare your child for the next grade, catch up with their peers and/or get them ready to CCSS tests that are given in the spring. In addition to my Fine Art degree at Humboldt State University I earned a minor in Spanish and participated in a Spanish Language Emersion program to Parras, Mexico, where I lived with a Mexican family, attended classes full time, taught classes in English and directed the construction of a painted town mural. I also have had experience assistant teaching Art classes at the University and graduated with two years in the honors painting program. My other teaching experience was as an employee at the Arcata Community Pool as a private swimming instructor for ages 3 to 18 and for a special education students.
