I have tutored high school students who are college bound during my undergraduate years at William Paterson University of New Jersey. I also tutored my fellow undergraduates. I then pursued a doctorate and was active in many peer study groups where were tutored each other in neuroscience and organic chemistry. I have a love for science which shows through my enthusiasm in imparting scientific knowledge to others.
My style is dependent on the student. While the end result is having a student understand the material, the way of achieving this varies with each person. I moved to California with nothing more than a suitcase and a desire to see new places. While I was there I was fortunate enough to work with a group of formerly incarcerated young women who were affiliated with the Center for Young Women’s Development. I created a writing workshop geared toward teaching these women to use their voices and to use writing as an outlet.
