I loved teaching! I think I retired too early because I miss the every day challenges and excitement teaching gives! I have been trained in 4Mat and Gardners Multiple Intelligences. I firmly believe "every child can learn" as long as you teach to their learning style. My daughter is following in my foot steps and will start her first teaching job in September. I truly believe if we show a child we care they can learn anything!
I am a retired school teacher that misses teaching children.I taught in a NJ public School for over 30 years. I actually taught in the same school district I attended as a child. I have recently graduated from Purchase College with an Undergraduate degree in Music with a minor in English. During School I tutored students in English composition and edited students essays and papers during the entirety of my undergraduate education. I have also taught voice and music theory to students privately. In High-school I scored a 97 percent out of 100 on the English regents exam. I recently received a full scholarship to complete my masters at the University of Maryland.
I will fit my teaching to the client. If a student learns with visuals, I will use visuals. If a student is an aural learner, I will cater to that side. A Little Bit About Me...

It is very important to let children know that there is no wrong or right way of doing their work, as long as it is done correctly. They also need to know that their methods are their own. Children needs reassurance. When A childs' work is not done to one's full potential, it is not my strategy to make them feel like less of a child. It is however, my strategy to work with that child until he/she understands WHY the work was not done correctly, and then let him/her correct the work themself. This in my opinion, lets a child know that we believe in him/her. That is the most important lesson a child can learn. That they are their own person and that they all have the potential to achieve the goals set for them.
