I am kind of new to teaching. I have taught my little brother everything he knows, and I've been told I have a really good way of teaching. Younger students catch on very quickly to what it is I am teaching. If they don't catch on quick, then no problem. I'm very patient and never give up until a student understands the concept. I am very easy to get along with, so the student will have no problems with me. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated with a degree in English while devoting time teaching kids and even adults martial arts. Also, I have tutored many of my younger cousins during their elementary school years and currently middle school as well. I have published two poetry books and am planning on writing a third book. I have a tremendous amount of love and passion for reaching out to others. I believe we will always be students, after all, we continue to learn each day. I grew up building computers, designing web pages, capable of typing over 100 words a minute, repairing computers and so forth. In a one-on-one situation, I prefer dialogue. Assuming the student does the assigned work before the session, I find that a informal, relaxed conversation on the subject matter at hand encourages the student to further explore the addressed topic. If I am familiar with the student's extra-curricular interests, I attempt to relate the subject matter to such interests. I find that questioning the student in a conversational manner produces the best results, as opposed to the more stringent (i.e. boring) task of fill-in-the-blank worksheets. For writing assignments, I ask the student to write a paragraph which we then go over line-by-line so the student has immediate feedback on any errors.
