I enjoy teaching and working with children of all ages. I feel any person regardless of age can learn. Each learns to their own preferred learning style. First, an analysis of student skills must be taken to ensure foundational skills are sufficient. Next, students need an explanation of new material; I prefer a hands-on approach. While in college thought CCD classes to 4th grade students Held and directed literacy classes to English-Speaking adults. I speak and write English and Spanish fluently. Tutored Biology and Chemistry during college
After obtaining a list of objectives, I like to offer a pop quiz to set a baseline. Thereafter, topics are divided in number of days available for preparation. Most important topics and topics not well understood get time and individualized priority. Offer a challenge test at the end. Harder than the test students will face but no so hard as to lower self steem.
