My teaching style is patience, immersion and respect. If there is one important thing I have learned from working with children, it is that though they are young, they are still people, so they are aware when they are being patronized for their age. Therefore, I make sure to treat them with respect. As far as foreign language teaching is concerned, I stress the difference between "decoding" and "comprehension". I want my students to be able to read in the foreign language and completely understand, rather than just read the letters and sound out the word.

My personal teaching philosophy is that there is no teaching without learning. Most classroom studies are at least partly removed from their intended application, for reasons of assuring comprehensive competency and because of the educational structure, i.e. attending school comes in advance of and separately from applying one’s knowledge. However, learning a language,for example and especially while living in it has both a need for constant practice and occasion for immediate application.
