I graduated from Spring Arbor University with a BA in English-Writing. Throughout my classes, I have honed the skills of writing and communicating effectively, whether it be creatively or analytically, as well as expanded my knowledge of literature by taking classes such as Shakespeare and 20th Century British Literature. I am a very well-read person who has a leaning toward classic authors such as Bronte, Dumas,and Hemingway. I completed a senior honors thesis, which was 70 pages of analyzing the works of J.R.R. I am passionalte about writing and have taught in K-12 for over 10 years. I have vast experience teaching writing at both high school and college level. I currently teach Composition classes at our local community college. I understand what is required of students to be successful in both high school and college. I was an Assistant Principal in a middle school for four years, and a teacher consultant for 30 years. In my role as a teacher consultant, I tutored students primarily in the high school. For the past 30 years, I have worked with special needs students. I believe that students learn at their educational level. The problem with education today, is that students are often in classrooms that stress learning at their frustration level. Many students are in general ed settings, but are forced to use materials that they do not fully understand.
