I like to try to explain concepts in a way that I believe my student will find easy to understand. If I find that they do not understand I will try a different method of explaining the concept. I often like to use sketches so students can visualize what is being taught or story problems so they can see some practical applications of how the concept can be used to solve problems.
Having enjoyed mathematics and especially calculus in high school, I decided to major in Mechanical Engineering so that I would be able to enjoy the many math courses that were required. With a degree from Purdue University and continuing on to get a degree in engineering, I am engaged in many areas of science and math.
