I have been working with children since I graduated from high school. I was a teachers assistant for the hearing impaired for 4 years and did some tutoring on the side for both deaf and hearing children. I attended college and received my bachelors degree in Psychology and then got a job as a teacher on an emergency credential and realized I loved teaching. When I graduated from college, I taught bilingual elementary kindergarten for 2 years on an emergency credential. I prefer a relaxed relaltionship with students regardless of their age. I do not try to force anything, rather comfortably explain things on a level that can be understood by the student. I try to have fun with the subject, and make it interesting on the student's level of understanding/experience. I realize some students may not be comfortable in a remedial situation, and try to encourage participation in a non-threatening manner.
