I taught privately for most of my years of experience. My teaching experience was primarily English one on one and Piano. My tutoring experience has been with learning centers and some private tutoring. This was over a period of more than 10 years. I started with Huntington Learning Center and continued with several other on line tutoring services.

My comments on tutoring Composition : I have a Bachelor's degree (with highest honors) from Florida International University and I did all my graduate work (with distinction) at the Univ. of Miami. One of my specialties is English in all its facets. In addition to being a very patient writing instructor, I am a professional writer (Published by Warner Brothers and Rowman and Littlefield) and teacher of writing so I know I can really help you learn how to make words dance, sing and jump off the page, if necessary.

My comments on tutoring Composition : Have taught my students how to compose stories as well as research projects.

My students enjoy coming to lessons with Ms. Sharon. I make them feel comfortable, and always encourage them to ask me questions. I always ask them if their was something that they had in the classroom that they didn't understand, and they are not inhibited to tell me so. They know I will not judge them on that, I am just inquiring to help them out so that when they go back into the classroom they will understand what is going on. Learning is fun!

I taylor my lessons according to student needs. I prefer the natural exposure to language. Grammar can be incorporated into the lessons and it does not have to be boring . I prefer guided conversation to standard lessons as the best way to learn a new language.
After moving to Miami from Germany in 2006, I've worked and a private tutor of the German language. I'm experienced in teaching elementary school children as well as adults. I helped my students in the German program at Sunset elementary to improve their grades. I gave customized classes to adult professionals who had to relocate to Germany and gave conversation classes to adults interested to freshen-up their German.
