I believe ever child has his or her own level of learning. That level can be intrapersonal, interpersonal, visual,etc. Every child must be worked with and not looked over. Not every child learns at the same pace. I am a believer in giving every child a chance. We as educators must find out what level of learning the child is on in order to assist the child's learning needs. If we fail to assess those needs, we have failed the child.
Although I graduated with a BS in Justices and an AA in Criminal Justice, I found myself feeling better working with youth rather than adults. I found myself substituting for elementary schools in Bulloch County and I have loved working in the classroom ever since. I have been involved with youth for a long time as scoutmaster and as coach in recreational soccer. I enjoy working with children, especially if they are willing to learn and improve their skills and knowledge. I assess the student's grasp on the subject and determine where assistance is needed. Using various means I then help the student to get the knowledge needed to achieve academic success.
As a student in high school, I became fascinated with Chemistry and went on to earn a BS in Chemistry. The position I landed after school dealt with additives in rubber and plastics, so eventually I went on to earn a MS degree in Polymer Science. This helped me to land a better position.
