I have always approached a teaching lesson as a learning opportunity. Learning is a fundamental skill. If you don't have your basic fundamentals, your student will have difficulty advancing. So, I always start with basic fundamentals such as; note taking, study skills, and comprehension! All sciences demand the ability to link concepts together. Ex. cells make up tissues, tissues make up organs, organs make up organ systems,etc.....! I call myself an "edutainer." I dress very well and I'm very, very funny. When I began teaching Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet skills to senior citizens at Brevard Community College, the directors were concerned that my students needed lots of breaks to go to the bathroom, etc. In actuality, none of my students ever leaves the room.
