Flute is one of my top subjects! I am a graduate of Wheaton College, IL where I studied flute with Dr. Jennie Brown. I am happy to help any beginning to intermediate flute player.

I have been playing and performing flute for 19 years. I began learning flute through the Suzuki method when I was 6 years old. I studied with Aniko Debreceny for 8 years. I graduated from Wheaton College Conservatory where I studied flute with Dr. Jennie Brown, and was a member of the Wheaton College Symphonic Band for 4 years. I took classes in Music Pedagogy. I had a combined degree at Wheaton for both music and English. I took many English classes including: British Literature, American Literature, Creative Writing, Children's Literature, and Shakespeare. In 2015 I graduated from Shenandoah University where I studies Flute Performance with Professor Jonathan Snowden. I now play with the Capital Wind Symphony.

A Little Bit About Me...

My tutoring experience has included working for Advanced Learners LLC, and working in a Middle School tutoring students during their study hall. The main group of students that I have worked with include Middle School aged students, but I also have experience working with Elementary aged students as well. I have taught children how to read, worked on developing phonics skills, and have taught math curriculum to students. I am great at teaching students how to develop their writing styles, complete academic writing assignments, and I have proven to successfully help students who struggle with reading. While my main emphasis of study in college is English, I have also had experience tutoring in Math, Government, Science, and other topics.

My comments on tutoring Flute : I can teach beginner through intermediate.

I opened my own studio in 2003. I teach children through adults on piano, keyboard, flute and voice. I graduated in 2011 with a BA in Music with a minor in Art History. I have gone to workshops with Musikgarten. In 2012 my son graduated from University of Md- Baltimore county with a BA in Music and joined my studio. He teaches violin, viola, steel drum and drums.
I believe that anyone can learn regardless of age. I teach from the Thompson series with additional books in Theory. I also use other books other than the series to give experience in the different genres. A brief History of Music is introduced.
